My tastes didn't really change but I crave fish and coffee, which I never did before WLS.

I like cottage cheese now - as I mentioned to Daisy but did not before.

I have yet to find a protein shake that I like- I choke them down - they're all too sweet or chalky tasting.

I have a hard time eating cod now and I love cod. When I was first allowed to have soft food, fish was on the list from my centre. I tried cod but it did not go down- now I get the foamies just thinking about it. Other fish like sole has been fine.

I have always liked spicy food, but now I love it.

I've been fortunate that the premier proteins agree with me, as well as the syntrax nectar powders. At first I was doing unflavored powder in soup but I prefer the shakes....less gross looking!

I cannot WAIT for purees and then mushies. I miss actually chewing food!

I now like all sorts of vegetables that I thought were disgusting before.

I was worried I wouldn't be able to eat spicy food, but now I go even spicier than before.

I've been lactose intolerant since I was a small child, but I seem to have much less trouble enjoying dairy products now.

Biggest change is that I have lost my sweet tooth for the most part. Soda is disgustingly nasty sweet and I've not been tempted by it at all.. and I used to be a Diet Coke fiend.

I wonder if my brain will decide I like okra....my vegetable nemesis!

It is easy to hate okra, because it is so often done badly. There's nothing likeable about woody-slime. However, if cooked properly, it can be delicious.

Okra, or any other food, done well great done wrong, yuck or worse.

  • Under done, rubbery, chicken
  • overly sweetened winter squash
  • dried out, leathery pork chops
  • slimy asperagus
  • dried out fish
  • beef cooked till it is dry and charred

Just to name a few.

It is better to travel and get lost...

Than never to travel at all.

I haven't really noticed any change in food tastes but I have noticed that I have completely lost interest in cooking. I used to love cooking, now I can barely be bothered.

Unjury Chocolate Sphincter!

I think I need to add milk to my list - which makes me so sad because I use the fairlife skim milk and it's a great source of protein right now during my liquid phase. My pouch is OK with it, but it wrecks everything after

Your tastes will flip flop many times... I found so especially in the first 6 months. You may like your Unjury chocolate splendor again.

The first 6 months I couldn't eat tuna salad but could eat chicken salad, why? Who knows...

I still basically don't like any cold cuts... people always do on their turkey and cheese roll ups which sounds so easy... but never sits well.
