What kind of foods?

My tastes changed. Loved cottage cheese pre surgery ate it all the time, now I can't even look at it and I start to gag, literally. I Loved anything sweet pre surgery, and right after surgery hated it, even the smell of sugar made me nauseous.
Right after surgery I loved all things savory and salty, still do. I use hot sauce all the time, flavours of Thai, East Indian, West Indian, Hakka, love it all, the spicier the better. Now at almost 4 years post op my sweet tooth has come back but the first 2 years I could not stand sweet. Oh and salt, I never used a salt shaker ever pre surgery, now its a must.
Things my pouch does not like post surgery: rice, carrots, oranges, ground beef, those things I CAN'T eat or there will be major problems

I'm the same with spicy. I liked it pre-surgery, but now I add hot sauce to everything! Also; I like salt way more. I used to never salt my food, but I add it to many things now.

I hated the Premier shakes pre-op and liked the Atkins. Now it is the opposite. I also liked Pure protein shakes until about 3 weeks post op and then they made me sick.
I was a huge diet coke addict and I don't like it anymore.
Sweets are way too sweet and I don't crave them at all.
I like Greek yogurt now and used to hate it.
I find I enjoy lemon based sauces and I didn't like those before at all.
Ground beef tastes atrocious now.
I know there's more but I can't remember them all. It's odd and a learning process for sure.

I was really surprised at how overly sweet the unjury suddenly seemed....I just couldn't stand it. I've had other things with sucralose in them that don't bother me but the unjury is above and beyond!

I became lactose intolerant, which is not big deal as i can work around it and there are so many options. Also, helps me to stay away from things like ice cream. I did have one Dr tell me that it will probably go away after a year.
One thing is I began having a wicked sweet tooth. I never had a big sweet tooth before. But, part of is i no longer drink alcohol post op. So I am learning to bake healthier options, finding new bariatric friendly recipes. I make brownies with black beans!
I wouldn't say loved but enjoyed whenever I had it was pork chops which are a ticket to pain for me post-op, they lay like a brick, no matter how I cook them or what I dip them in.
Oh and booze which it's worth it IMHO... http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2012/06/life- after-weight-loss-surgery-q_27.html
I eat way more cottage cheese & Greek yogurt than I did pre-op.
There are several things I don't eat that I used to (but I dare say I could without issue LOL which is why I don't) = pasta, bread, rice, white potatoes, chips, crackers.
Fun Q!
Thanks for the link! I was never a big drinker pre-surgery so it's not something I'll really miss and for that I am glad!
I am (im)patiently awaiting being able to move into the next phase so I can see what other things I like/dislike....5 more days of modified full liquids. Not that I'm counting or anything...
