What kind of foods?

I know most of you, if not all of you, have seen/heard/read that your tastes change post-surgery. What kind of foods did you love before that you couldn't stand after surgery? Was there anything you absolutely hated pre-surgery and loved after?

So far my tastebuds have rejected what was my favorite protein shake - Unjury Chocolate Splendor....it's WAAAAAY too sweet for me now, and v-8 - which I used to love but now it tastes gross and metallic

I haven't really had any issues with food, but beverages? That's a different story. I'm hyper-sensitive to sweet drinks, and even coffee doesn't taste right to me. All my old favorites either taste waaaaay too sweet, or just plain gross.

It took me months to find anything besides water that I can drink. I managed to find a brand of coffee (at Aldi of all places) that tastes pretty good. I can drin****d tea w/pure sucralose. Gold Peak Diet iced tea is good, but I have to mix it 1/3 tea and 2/3 water because it's way too sweet. Mostly I live on Diet Lipton Green Tea Mixed Berry. It really tastes good to me. And recently I found I can drink fountain Diet Dr. Pepper if I let it go flat. That's pretty much it.

My tastes didn't change at all. I have become very sensitive to caffeine post surgery (heart palpitations), but that could simply be a coincidence.

The only change I experienced is that I can't eat falafel since it sits in my stomach like a brick. Not always a big fan of chicken breast cooked whole either. No changes with food tastes on my tongue though!

I couldn't tolerate vanilla protein shakes post op, never went back to them. I stick to syntrax chocolate truffle now.

Food wise- pork bacon, haven't been able to eat it since surgery. Anything with a high fat content doesn't sit well, so I avoid anything fried. Extremely rich/decadent desserts- same. Pancakes sit like a brick. I could probably tolerate these better now- but I'd rather not find out.

I hated yogurt pre-surgery, learned to like it after for its convenience.

I haven't hit the phase yet where I can have yogurt, but I really hope I still like it...it was one of my go-to protein sources in the pre-op phase.

Same thing with the drinking. I can't enjoy a glass of water. Root beer sucks. Arnold Palmers suck.

Drinking and keeping it down ( even water ) is hard. Sweet drinks - like fresh squeezed orange juice tend to make the tummy rebel as if I ( dared ) eat a cheesecake ...total rolling on the ground in agony stuff for like twenty minutes.

Before surgery I WANTED to eat everything and pretty much could.

Prior to surgery, I could only stomach vanilla protein shakes, and post surgery I can only handle chocolate. During my pre-op diet, I loved cottage cheese, it was my saving grace (I got to eat 1/2 cup per day). I actually have only eaten it once since surgery and it tasted super funny to me.

Prior to surgery, I was a bottled Diet Coke addict. Now I only like it from a fountain. I have a new love for avocados that I never had before. There are several other veggies that I liked previously, but are just wonderful to me now. I used to drink coffee way over sweetened and now enjoy the bitter flavor.

I'm enjoying finding out what things I love/hate now!
