I would imagine c-section babies are often VERY LARGE babies which are usually the product of diabetic moms , yes ?

Also obviously the procedure would only be necessary on a less healthy population ...

In the US, 32% of all deliveries are by C-section.

There are MANY reasons, beyond large babies, why a woman-- including a perfectly healthy one-- would deliver by Cesarean:

  • Advanced maternal age
  • Multiple babies
  • Breech positioning
  • Low infant birthweight
  • Macrosomia (large baby), due to maternal diabetes OR other factors
  • High maternal BMI
  • Complications of vaginal delivery
  • Previous C-section status
  • A woman's personal preference to deliver this way

Additionally, the original study correctly took into account factors of maternal weight and gestational diabetes/macrosomia when running the statistics. It's not something they just forgot about.

Your conclusion that women have C-sections because they are unhealthy is decidedly NOT supported by scientific evidence.

Thanks for bringing the science. Apparently my comment telling her to cut out the victim blaming bull was deleted.

Not quite.

A 12-pound baby delivered vaginally?

One of my favorite TV blurbs was the factoid "67 percent of American women have never had a satisfying physical relationship with a Republican." It seems low to me, actually.
