WTF? Just need to vent I guess....
Quick context: I am 15 months post-op, went from 333 to ~152. Been in maintenance for the last 6 months. My weight has been stable, bouncing about 3-5 lbs in either direction.
Yesterday, I run into my boss in the hall (I do not see my boss on a daily basis, maybe a few times a month) and he says "Hey, it looks like you've put on some weight.". Once I had a second to recover from the shock, I replied "No, I've been pretty steady for the last 6 months.", to which he replies "Maybe a couple of pounds? You look like you've put on a couple of pounds.".
I mean, seriously. WTF? Really?
I just don't understand why it is so incredibly socially acceptable to comment freely on people's weight. Not to mention that regain is probably my #1 fear in life right now, so his comments are certainly feeding into my insecurities there.
Did not make me happy.
Some people are ******** Try to ignore them.
That being said, when we get to goal we tend to look a bit "gaunt" but things seem to redistribute so we look healthier even at the same weight.
Hang in there. The comments do stop.

This is definitely true. I have had a number of people tell me they thought I was looking really good over the last few months, that I looked "healthier". My guess is that this is what he was reacting too, and honestly, I know he wasn't trying to be a jerk. He is just an extremely open, transparent and direct guy. It wasn't said in a nasty or mean spirited way.
Regardless, it still pissed me off ;-)

Agreed. Today people commented on my scrub pants and told me that I was getting into MC Hammer territory. I thought to myself that people would never mention if they thought my pants were getting tight. Guess I was wrong. People are crazy.

I love this response. Some people just don't get it unless people treat them the same way.
