How to deal with people who won't shut up.
I think that you're right. I mean, I know that you're right - it just sucks to acknowledge that this is what I'm apparently going to need to do.

truthfully, I'd start shopping elsewhere- farm fresh etc is nice - but I'm just not that dedicated, especially when the interaction is making me uncomfortable.
I have this thing I do when I walk my dog and people yell at/to me: 'don't walk her there, don't let her go there' etc. I just smile at them and say, 'Yeah, nice day, isn't it.' They repeat themselves and I repeat myself. Then they usually give up thinking I'm 'special' or something.
Maybe try that

But I'll DIE without my local tomatoes. DIE.
I love your dog walking suggestion :D

Just to play devil's advocate, lol; is it possible her comments are more about her produce than about yours or her daughter's weight?
Saying you're making healthy food choices isn't a stretch when you're buying farm fresh foods. Maybe she tells everyone they're making healthy choices when they shop her stall? Maybe she compliments all of her customers on how good they look, and is just an aggressive sales person.
Or maybe she's a passive aggressive B; who knows.
I know you feel sorry for her daughter, but if her daughter is an adult she can choose to set boundaries stop her Mom from cutting her down, or not.
You could always try talking about the Mom's body and food choices, give her a taste of her own medicine.
Whatever you decide, I hope it works out for you.

LOL; and here I was imagining a stall full of fresh farm veggies, lol.
I cannot even imagine having this surgery while working as a pastry chef; OMG.

Seriously. She says that she doesn't actually eat sweets, so it's not a problem for her. Which makes sense - I know when I worked for her for last summer I was not tempted to eat stuff! But, still, it seems like there's got to be some amount of tasting involved in chefing. But... Graham Elliott!

That sounds like a tough situation, particularly for the daughter. As you most likely know, having people keep reminding us that we're fat is about the most unhelpful thing they can do, and the daughter is most likely struggling big time. Sadly, you can't do much about that beyond offering her your support. As far as the mom goes, she probably thinks she is helping by holding you up as a "shining example," but again, there's not a whole lot you can do about that. I'm sure this lady has been dealing this way with her daughter for a lifetime. I would recommend that you say something to her that makes it about you, something along the lines of, "Having people talk about my body is really uncomfortable for me. Let's talk about something else." If she persists, just be a "broken record" and keep repeating the same thing. If that doesn't work, you might want to think whether this is a toxic enough relationship that you might need to go elsewhere.
