Today I rode my bike to work. It was a pretty flat ride of 7 miles, all but one of the miles on paved bike trails, but I haven't ridden a bike more than a mile in at last five years, so I was definitely sweating. I wore my work clothes, selected for being cool, and managed to look OK today. I'm trying to avoid having to shower at a local fitness center prior to going into the office. In Europe people bike to work in suits and dresses all the time, seems like I should be able to do that here too!

I'll change into a tee-shirt and shorts for the ride back home :)

Great job! I would love to bike to work and in theory I could - I only live about 5 miles away so it wouldn't be a bad ride, but my only option is a very busy road with a small shoulder. Neither DH or I feel comfortable riding along that road.

I used google maps to research various options, the default map is down a very busy city street that has a nice separate bike lane, but it's SCARY to me. I take a little longer route that is a bike/running paved trail along the river. Less traffic stops, no cars, worth the extra time. I'm planning on riding in again tomorrow :)

I live in the Northeast. it was 48 degrees this morning and i had to wear a sweatshirt for my walk. I SURE DO NOT miss those hot days from other places where I have lived!

Post-op recovery means no exercise for me, but I can walk! I was feeling super exhausted about an hour ago and I don't want to take a nap or caffeine because I really don't want to muck with my sleep. I opted to take a walk instead with the thought that it would either invigorate me or make me more tired and either was better than the way I was feeling. Yay for walks!

I got out of bed at 5;30 am and walked a mile! I have been wanting to do morning walking instead of evening walking and today I did it! it was glorious!plus, i did not take my dog so it was a good solid fast mile- (no stopping to sniff and pee on everything) I will shoot for mile and half tomorrow.. just ran out of time this morning!

Yesterday was an hour of TRX and half an hour on the bike.

Tonight is 2 hours of fencing.
