Divorce after surgery
NorcalFF, I don't have any specific advice for you, but do have some gentle encouragement that this will turn out well.
Like many others, I have been through a divorce, prompted by my first husband's departure. And like many others, it turned out to be the very best possible thing to have happened to that marriage. It really did need to end.
You WILL figure this out. Day by day. Week by week. Month by month. Yes, it's freaky at first -- so very different, such a big change. But you'll adapt. You had the courage to choose WLS and to improve your life. Therefore, I'd wager you've got the courage to handle this change, too.
There's a near-certain likelihood that your future will turn out much better because you won't be in a partnership with someone who can't commit fully to a marriage with you.
At this point, weird as it sounds, I'll also venture to offer you some gentle congratulations!
(Hugs!)

I am sorry you are going through this.
I have been married almost 27 years. I will say it has not been easy the last four years.
Blaming the surgery on my marital problems would be easy. Blaming AA for my problems would be easy also.
Life changes we change. It can be hard sometimes too.
She may be doing you the best favor. You can live a life with someone who cares and loves you. To be with someone *****ally isn't there in body and mind can really suck the life out of you.
It maybe hard right now. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids. If you can't eat get a protein drink. I know when I can't eat I will make bad decisions with food. I will justify eating things I shouldn't.
Take care of yourself. Don't blame everything on your the divorce on yourself. It takes two people. And no one is perfect.

My deepest sympathies to you. I am very sorry you're going through this.

Maybe what you really need is a super-cute goat! :-)
