Hi Kathy,

I've always hated going to gyms but love being outside in nature. Taking photos on my walks/bike rides really motivates me, and finding new routes does to.

I really love my bike and feel unhappy on the days where it's pouring down rain (like today) and I can't go.

I recently bought some very light weights and use them while watching people in the weight loss surgery community on youtube.

For walking, I had wonderful furry walking partners since 1989...this is my first year without dogs and I don't like walking without them. I stop and chat with every dog I see on walks, lol. I've actually put out a facebook post offering to walk friend's dogs, but nobody has taken me up on the offer so far, as they all like walking their dogs themselves. I tried the local humane society but they won't let the dogs go off site, poor babies.

I would love so much to live close to you so we could be bike buddies! It would be amazing. My friend Al came with me once, and my friends Nancy and Joan keep saying they want to but so far never have, lol.

I'm not going to preach CrossFit, I promise. That is what finally motivated me to go to the gym on a regular basis. And I LOVE it. Being off it for surgery is making me stir crazy!

BUT one of the biggest motivators in getting me moving was having a buddy. We tried to go together at least twice a week. Would that be possible for your non-gym workouts? That forces me to schedule the workouts in, which means I tell my family about it ahead of time and make myself do it. Also, NOT leaving it to the end of the day is a huge thing too. I'm far more likely to stick to my plan if I do the activity at lunch or immediately after work. If I wait until 7 PM or later, it likely doesn't happen.

Trust me cheeka,

I believe in it BIG TIME! Before my PS I worked out like a body builder and got my body fat down to 10%. Yes, you read that right. I wanted the best results for all my skin removal. If anyone ask I will tell them to do it It's a money thing for me right now and you are so right! I will do better if I have at least 1 person to do it with me. Best motivation EVER! Keep doing what you are doing my friend

For a long time I was doing and loving Beach Body's 21-day-fix dvds. 7 different routines, simple set of dumbells, 30 minutes and done. Rolled out of bed first thing in the morning and done...can modify easily as needed
