I don't think most people here bother with counting fat grams. The goal is usually to stay within an established calorie limit, get enough protein, and keep carbs and sugars low.

The exception would be those on a ketogenic diet (like me now), who need to ensure they get enough healthy fats in their diet. My goal is that my daily calorie allotment (800) is 60% fat, 30% protein, and 10% carbs.

healthy fats are not the enemy. Carbs are the enemy for most of us.

Exactly what Cathy said. Protein, carbs and calories in exactly that order for me. I find calories easy to manage.

You are ds which doesn't quite translate to rny or vsg because of the huge malabsorbtion. A typical wls would be the Goodyear blimp eating like that.

What is ds

I also don't worry about fat grams. I eat full fat dairy products, avocado, good olive oil, nuts, etc. I make sure I'm getting plenty of protein and track overall calories, while minimizing carbs and consumption of artificial sweeteners. This keeps me satiated and free of cravings for sweets.
