Low Vit D

Low Vit D is very scary and I am having a ton of issues right now...I was in ER twice and admitted for 8 hours to figure out why I hurt and have chest pain. Had a zillion tests and all is good which I am happy about. Monday, I am going to a Neurologist to see why my head is numb and tingling!

I started on 50,000 Vit D once a week yesterday and it already has stopped some of my pain. I just hope it lasts.

Thanks for your reply.

If you do have very low Vit D keep in mind that it will take some time for it to build up in your system enough for your symptoms to go away. While I was building mine up I had blood tests once every 2 months to make sure m levels were going in the right direction.

I really hope this fixes it for you!!! If not keep at the drs to find something. Don't do what I did for too many years and just decide the Drs would never figure it out.

I was Vit D deficient for 20 years pre-WLS and could never get it up with pills. Now I have some in my Multivitamin and calcium patches and take 20,000mg a day of Liquid D3. I know that sounds like a crazy amount but that is what it took to not be deficient and actually be at a good number. Back in February I took the Vit D3 patch on vacation with me rather than the liquid and even though it was only a 1/4 of the dose- 5,000 when I got back my D was too high. Not toxic but over normal range. So went back to the liquid.

So the PatchMD Vit D might be something to consider...
