WLS Success and Self Confidence
Regardless of which surgery you get, there are certain things that guarantee success. One of those is self-confidence. The way we get it? Repetition, repetition, repetition.
The biggest lesson for me from going to therapy is that I must practice the things I am good at. It's no different than math, or music, or knitting, or soccer, really. We must practice what we do, and as we repeat it, we gain confidence which leads our success on.
Here's a TED talk by Dr. Ivan Joseph some of you might find helpful. This is something I am working on right now with many aspects of my life.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much...the life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully. -- Seneca, On the Shortness of Life

Yes! This is a great lesson. I learned it when I was working at [game] events from 2002-2012. I found I was really good at event/operations management and that the more I did this thing I was good at the more self-confidence (and spine) I grew.
There were ups and downs, but the end result has been a Gwen I like much better.
