Sorry I didn't get a chance to post while I was traveling. Life was just moving to fast. I had the greatest trip. Being 4.5 months out of surgery was NO problem. In fact my energy level was better than it has ever been. This was the first vacation I ever took were I did not spend half the time looking for restaurants to eat at. I found it gave me so much time for touring! I had brought a ton of bars and protein powder and at each stop I would go to the grocery store and pick up a couple things for dinners. I was perfectly happy to eat my cold fake meat and veggies in hotels without a microwave and thrilled if I could heat it up. I was able to walk 10+ miles a day, see some wonderful sites and take some amazing hikes. This entire trip was an incredible NSV. I had almost no problem eating on plan even as a vegan and managed to loose 6 more lbs putting me firmly in the normal BMI category for the first time in my ENTIRE life. I did go off the rails food wise for the last 48 hours of my trip and learned (unfortunately) that I could get away with eating almost anything. I guess I have an iron sleeve. Been home for a few days now and back on track with little difficulty but those last couple of days were a good lesson.

Another milestone reached during this trip is that it was been a year (5/16/2016) since I started this weight loss journey. The best decision I ever made.

Anyway, if anyone else wonders if they can travel easily so soon after surgery, the answer is yes!

Congratulations on your success! I love to see people experience life and enjoy their new weight. I am retired and so many of my friends do nothing but sit at home. My husband and I spent 60 days in Europe, and the next year 6 months on a car road trip. We are both working again as their are things we want to accomplish financially and really we were bored.

Hope you continue to have fun.
