Hello guys,

Does anyone here take smarty pants vitamins; or are they too high in sugar for us?

I have been taking the centrum but thinking of changing up,

thanks!

Flinstones are incomplete and formulated for children, best to skip them.

I loved the smarty pants prenatals (and my husband loves their multi) but I wouldn't eat them during the weight loss stage due to the sugar.

I'd worry more about how incomplete they are. It looks like they've got 14 vitamins and minerals and there are 28. The ASMBS recommends that we get 200% of most vitamins and minerals and even at two doses (which would be TWELVE gummies and 100 calories) you would't come close to that for things like Thiamin and Riboflavin. And two times zero is still zero for all the 14 vitamins and minerals that aren't in the vitamin at all.

What vitamins are you taking?

Basically we're supposed to get the aforementioned 200% of "most" vitamins and minerals. We're also supposed to get 1500mg of Calcium CITRATE a day. Those are really the two hard and fast rules. From there, extra supplementation is based on individual need - that commonly includes iron and vitamin D.

I can't recommend a specific vitamin to you. I take a weird one from Amazon right now.

But here's my method for selecting a vitamin. I know there are 28 vitamins and minerals we need for healthy human life.

Biotin Calcium Choline Chromium Copper Flouride Folic Acid Iodine Iron Magnesium Manganese Molybdenum Niacin Pantothenic Acid Phosphorus Potassium Riboflavin Selenium Sodium Thiamin Vitamin A Vitamin B12 Vitamin B6 Vitamin C Vitamin D Vitamin E Vitamin K Zinc

I go through this list and figure out which ones I need from a multivitamin and which ones I don't. I put the ones that I, personally, don't need in bold. I don't need them because I get them through other sources. From there, when I'm looking for a multi, I go through and count how many vitamins and minerals it lists. If it's over 20, I start looking at it more carefully to see if it'll meet my needs. If it has fewer than 20, I don't even bother.

I hope this helps!
