Spanx question?

So my stomach is no longer a firm ball of fat. Now it's just looks like it's a sad face. I'm almost 3 weeks out. The doctor said to hold off for a few weeks until I'm fully healed. So I'm thinking she meant the full 6 weeks of recovery time. She said to get a abdominal compression for now. To me that's like the same thing. Plus all my spanx I do own are loose now. So all they would really be doing is helping with the jiggle. What do you guys think?

If you look in the drug store near the ace bandages and ankle braces, you can find abdominal binders. It's like a neoprene wrap with a velcro closure for your stomach. Unlike Spanx which you have to pull on, this wraps around. Many people find them helpful.

This is one at Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hospital-Grade-Abdominal-Binder-f or-hernias-surgery-pregnancy-compression-more/722867779?wmls partner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=8660&adid=22222222227072178561 &wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=182870982390&wl4=p la-286274509848&wl5=9007217&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=1157 94194&wl11=online&wl12=722867779&wl13=&veh=sem

They are to provide support to the muscles while healing. There are also other ones which are made of neoprene (like the knee sleeves with the holes) with velcro that people wear when exercising because the flapping of the excess skin bothers them.

Spanx are not the same as abdominal binders. If you can get your doctor to prescribe you one, insurance will often cover them. I never saw a point to one -- but to each their own.

The purpose of the binder is to support your abdominal muscles so you can move around with less (or no) pain.

Very helpful when you have to get up out of a mid century modern bed!
