I am in DESPERATE need of help!!

I am currently going through the process to have bariatric surgery. The only trouble I am having is my Psych Eval. I cannot find a doctor in my area that excepts Buckeye Insurance (OH medicaid). I feel like I have called everyone in the state. As well as, my bariatric doctor, and my insurance company. I cannot find anyone. Can someone please help???

Thank you,

Anj

Does your insurance company have a website that lists providers? You might need to consider paying for it out of pocket. :(

Reconstructive Surgeries with Dr. Michaels - 6/5/2017 (LBL & brachioplasty), 8/14/2017 (UBL & mastopexy), 11/6/2017 (medial leg lift)

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been calling providers that my insurance recommended and listed on their website. Unfortunately, they either are no longer accept Buckeye or do not do the bariatric evaluations. I am so frustrated. I have asked about paying out of pocket and it is almost $800.00. Way more than I can afford. This is the ONLY thing I have to do for surgery.

I did some quick Googling and found this website that lists OH Medicaid providers. Check out provider type "PSYCHOLOGIST INDIVIDUAL" and put in your city, hopefully you'll be able to find someone.

Great suggestion. And even though she might need a psychiatrist, she might be able to ask the offices she finds through this for recommendations if they aren't able to help her directly.

I spoke with them yesterday. They will only accept medicaid if you do the entire surgery process with them

I have my bariatric doctor here in Columbus. The only thing I have left to do before surgery is the psych eval. I cannot find anyone to do it that accepts Buckeye.

Oh no! I'm sorry. That really stinks. I hope you find somewhere very soon.

You might check out...

I considered using them when I could not find anyone in my area to do them but eventually I found someone 90 minutes away who accepted my insurance and went that route, otherwise, this group would have been my only other option.
