Menstruation symptoms stronger after surgery?
Since I first got my period on my 12th birthday, I have never experienced cramps, bloating, or any other stereotypical PMS or period symptoms. Since having surgery, I have experienced bloating and cramping lately. Has anyone had this happen where menstrual symptoms intensified after losing weight?

I also noticed that my periods were slightly worse after losing a lot of weight.
I have never missed a cycle since I began at 12 -- even after my son was born, I got my cycle 29 days later. Seriously. It it was always 5 days long, hardly any cramping and really a text book thing.
After surgery and losing significant weight, I did notice that cramping was more and it was slightly heavier -- still pretty minor compared to what some other women experience. I don't know if that is due to losing some estrogen dominance with fat loss, if I am ovulating more regularly, or if it's simply because I have gotten older and things change as we age?
But, to answer your question, yes, I have had a similar experience.
Hope this helps.

When I was losing very fast the first 6 months my periods were heavier. They lighted up and then I had a period every 2 weeks for a year

I have a Mirena (hormonal iud) and before surgery, I would get some spotting every few months. Before the Mirena I would get 7-8 day periods that were terrible. I hated leaving the house and had to sleep with a towel under me.
Since surgery my 7 day periods are back but they are light so I'm glad for that.
