Anyone get back into heels?
Hi all,
So as I try to imagine what it would be like to be thin (I really don't know... I was a size 16 in grade 9), I imagine myself wearing things like nice heels. Is that possible? Do our bodies forgive us that much?!
Just a few years ago, I remember I used to zip through airports (I traveled a lot for work) in 3 inch wedges. For about a couple of years now, I can really only wear flats, and there's no zipping anywhere!!!
Ugh!
Yep. I'd given up on heels, I thought forever. I had chalked it up to changing careers to nursing, and the rheumatoid disease that caused these very painful nodules to form in the arches of my feet. I started buying the expensive shoes at The Walking Company and FootSmart because they were the only ones I could stand, and while they have some that don't look like orthopedic shoes, they're not exactly high fashion.
Since losing almost 100#, I can wear heels again. Now, I still can't wear cheap shoes anymore, I have to buy quality for my feet to tolerate them. (Probably shouldn't have ever bought cheap shoes, but hey I was young...) And I can't go extreme, but I can wear a nice 3 to 3-1/2" heel now, and get through a day at the office or even an evening out in them.

All day every day! If I am not on a run and wearing my Saucony's you will find me in heels! And now that Summer is around the corner its Wedge's for days, so much fun shoes for Summer! You will love it. I recently went to a wedding and wore 4" heels all night long dancing and standing chatting, its wonderful! I do love cute ballerina flats for some outfits but my go to are heels now, never ever in a million years thought I would say that when I was MO. Good luck shoe shopping now!

4" heels sound incredible. My sis and I found the most gorgeous pink sparkly stilettos not long after she started dating her current bf. She tried them on... they were so so great, and she thought maybe when they get married (which will likely happen in a year or two)!
I took a pic of them, partly for her, and partly for me because I wished I could wear such beauties. I wasn't even considering wls then. Maybe these and her friends are in my future!!!

I'm back in my heels... and I now have LOTS more new pairs to go with all the outstanding clothes I keep finding at a bargain.
Oh... maybe I've transferred my addictions...
You betcha, you'll be back in heels! And you'll love the wedge and chunky heeled shoes... so easy to walk in!

This makes me wonder if I'll ever get back into heels myself, I begrudgingly gave up a couple of dozen pairs a few years ago as my knees were so bad that I simply couldn't handle the pain anymore.
I know I'll still have some knee issues even after I lose the weight (as knee problems had a small part to play in me gaining my weight), but the thought of even occasionally wearing heels again gives me a warm fuzzy glow. I miss them so much, I really enjoyed them.
