I never thought I'd run. I never thought I wanted to run...I started at close to 400lbs and was over 400 at one point in my life. I have been running the last several months and love it! Great shoes make a difference.

Never say never... I have serious year round allergies as well :)

Well, unfortunately, I have degenerative arthritis in my knees, and the left knee has practically no cartilage left. I can only walk on flat, level surfaces otherwise I'm in pain. They could never take the pounding that running would cause. I'm okay with that. I just have to find other ways to get in good exercise.

Yes, I get the same thing--always have. I've also heard of taking a Claritin or Allegra as well. Like T, I'm wiping my snotty nose on my gloves!

The weather here has been crazier, than normal. "Normal" for us is often 30 degrees, in the am, and 90 in the pm...seriously...We can all 4 seasons, in less than a week...and the POLLEN can LIVE thru all of them...So I TRULY get what you are saying!!!

Lately, I haven't been able to hit the streets until the evenings, and the air is AWFUL!! Throw all the peeps mowing their lawns, and my snot is in my socks...so I wipe my nose with my socks...

No, I actually I have started using Nasacort nasal spray, when the pollen count is super high. It's too hot, usually to wear gloves, so I am forced to use tissues, so I keep them in the pocket of my wais****er belt. If it's cold enough, I'm not above wiping CLEAR snot on my gloves...it's MY gloves and MY snot...and I have LOTS of gloves...I do love my accessories!

Very interesting. It happens to me every day. I take kleenex with me when I walk. It is really the only time I have a runny nose. Ever. I do take Claritin, but it does not stop it when I exercise.

My allergist has suggested using Flonase or something similar before exercise. I have the same problem when I run. It's not as bad when I'm fencing and I don't know why.

Keep on losing!

You can develop allergies at any point in your life.

I moved to Texas and had sinus infections 3 years in a row. The doctors kept telling me I had allergies, and I told them I did not. I was in my 30s and yep I have allergies. I take Zyrtec everyday from Fall to Feb.

I know you can develop allergies at any point. If this plagued me at any other time I'd agree. But this only ever happens when I run at a time different than my usual early mornings.
