A Google self-diagnosis
So tonight I went for a run after work since I got home early. I've been mainly running on the weekends in the early morning. I do fine with those runs.
I've noticed though, whenever I add a run at another time, I get very congested/sneezy after the run. (Like now- I'm a sneezy, snotty mess-- and I do not have seasonal allergies). So I took to Dr.Google to figure out why. 'Exercise induced rhinitis.' Basically, more pollutants are in the air and the exercise causes for capillaries to do something that makes you more 'open to pollutants'.
Anyone else experience this? My sister suggested I take a Claritin before I run-- I hope that helps, I'd like to run more since the weather is nicer. But I don't wanna feel like I do now.

I did start searching for ways to carry Kleenex. Putting them in my bra was useless cause they became sopping wet from sweat. The runny nose is worse when I stand still, I can get away with a sleeve or shirt tail during the run. (Not the most hygienic method I know...)

In highschool I used to run cross country and my mom is a learn to run coach at a running room. It is more common than people would think. The Claritin will help cut it back. Eventually you just get used to it. I actually found it worse around the 0-10degree outside mark.
If you don't want to carry a Kleenex , this will sound gross but you could have a sweatband on your wrist that you kind of wipe your nose with.
Random question is how do you breath? In through your nose, out through your mouth? In and out through mouth of in and out through nose?

I won't run outside if it's below 20 degrees.
I think I breath in/out through nose. (It's one of those questions where if you ask me 100 times, I may give you 100 different answers.) today was more mouth breathing than is usual. That's how I noticed I was headed towards the dreaded post-run congestion.

Sorry I am from North of the border so it would be between 32F and 50F.
Maybe try out some different breathing. I did find in through my nose out through my mouth helped me but everyone is different.

I run into this problem when I bike ride sometimes. My nose would get all runny & I'd have to keep sniffing or use my cycling gloves to wipe away the snot. Yeah gross. I've been running into this problem in the morning when I ride to work, but its only been a problem recently in the morning. I don't have seasonal allergies either.
