Thanks! Tucson has a fair bit of bike theft and the folks at the local shop said that making your bike look unique is a good deterrent. So I had a lot of fun with reflective tape and new handlebar grips, and now I call it "the big yellow taxi!"

ha, very appropriately named.

i havent gotten to do any training in a week... after my 5k i did at gym, my foot has been incredibly sore... walking around DC this last weekend was brutal.

going to a podiatrist this afternoon to see whats up... hoping its not a stress fracture, that would suck.

Fingers crossed that it's not a big deal! But if you need to take a load off your feet, biking and swimming are really good cardio and it'll all transfer over to running eventually.

That's fantastic Julie! I'm so happy for you.

I'm sorry, but you're also an idiot. You shouldn't need any photographic proof that you can do hard things. You've been doing hard things all along.

And besides, who needs a photo when I've got the sore butt to prove it?

(Seriously, triathlon shorts are the WORST. Give me regular padded bike shorts any day!!)

Congrats Julie! Such a wonderful accomplishment!

I hope you are resting and getting spoiled with foot and back rubs!

Congratulations! It is on my bucket list, but I just can't get it together. You entered, and you finished, a great big win.
