Holy carb withdrawal, Batman!

I have been spot on with the carbs today. Seriously, the only carbs I've had all day were a few sugar snap peas and a couple of mini sweet bell peppers with my lunch.

Breakfast was 2 eggs, 1oz of mozzarella and coffee with SF creamer

Lunch was ham and cream cheese roll ups and some snap peas and raw peppers.

Afternoon snack was a premier protein bananas and cream.

This afternoon, I got a really bad headache. It's strange, I don't usually get headaches like this, and even if I do get headaches, Tylenol usually will help. BUT HOLY **** it's a bad one, and it's right in the front of my forehead. It's not sinuses, it doesn't feel like pressure. I was sitting here wondering what it could be then I remembered how badly I felt during my 7 day pre-op liquid diet, and this is exactly the same.

Carb addiction is real, and carb withdrawal is real. Once I realized what was going on, I mentioned it in the office and a co-worker held out a sleeve of Ritz Crackers to me. I told her to **** off, lol.

I can do this, I can get through this. I know I can. Uggh.

Yup. So many think the headache is not enough calories. It's just carb withdrawal. The sooner you get past it, the better off you'll be.

D - While you are losing the processed carbs, drink even more water, than you normally would--it really does help...It may take 3-4 days before you don't feel so crappy. Hang in there!

How about something solid, after that afternoon shake? Some cut up Green veggies, maybe?

Not sure what you peeps "above Oklahoma" :) call "snap peas"...Is that a black eyed pea? Just wondering...I haven't learned my 3 new things today, yet!!

Gina, I love that your goal is to learn 3 new things a day!

Snap peas, aka sugar snap peas, look like green beans, but shorter and bigger/rounder. They also look like a round snow pea. They taste sweet so make a lovely raw snack!

I never thought about it being a green bean..lol...COOL !!! I SHOULD have known that--I used to "snap" those, with my Granny, but we must have called it something else..like "fixin' green beans" :)

Thanks for posting this Deana. I was just at that point of my day where I start contemplating going to the vending machine and was clearly headed towards 'f-it'. I popped in here to read and this changed my mind.

Of course now I wonder if I've truly kicked the carb monster far enough away- cause I don't get headaches.

I keep reading this as "holy crab withdrawal" and thinking "whoa, you must have been eating a lot of crabs!!"

Carb addiction and withdrawal suck. Just like caffeine withdrawal. (My partner is caffeine addicted, stops drinking it, complains about headaches, so starts drinking it again. Dumbbutt :P)
