Airport scrutiny

That's how Ohio is too. Or at least where I live.

Woah, weird! I've never gotten grief by security about not looking like my picture, even when traveling overseas. I'm glad they let you through.

My last license picture was taken two months before surgery, and they also refused to let me get a new one. I've flown a few times, and showed my license many other times, including when I got a passport recently, and only once has anyone commented on the picture.

The good news is, I just got a postcard yesterday that it was time for a new license!

I have heard, but have no evidence, that they will not give you a new license as long as you have the old one. But if you lost the old one, they'd have to give you another. But, for what it's worth, my guess is they would still print a new one with the old picture.

Yeah in Ohio they just print one with the old pic. It's no big deal and I got on the plane but I was getting nervous!

I lost my license once when I was in my early 30s. They take a new picture and everything, not just reprint your old one (at least here where I live they do.)

I will be "losing" my license soon, so they have to give me a replacement. I suggest you lose yours

hmmmm -- I'm glad you brought this up. I'm flying next week for the first time in awhile. I got a new passport recently - maybe I'll take that with me *just in case*....

Interesting! I've often wondered if they were going to say anything looking at mine, but to date they never have (I've only flown a few times in the last year though).

Like others, if you lose your license and go to the DMV they should be able to take a new photo and replace it.

The first time I used my passport (which was taken at 320 lbs). When I used it after losing 175 pounds, the agent just kept looking at me and at the picture (back and forth several times). Then he handed it back to me, smiled, and said "much better now, congratulations." Sorry they gave you grief.

I haven't had that problem...and my passport photo is deplorable! I should really be offended, but i did get an odd random comment from the immigration offer last time I crossed the border. He said "Do you have money? because you look like you have money. You look like you do well". So apparently weight loss makes me look rich...ok
