Any not milky Protein Drinks?

I like the Syntrax Fuzzy Navel... It is the only flavor I have found that tastes good mixed in water. I over-dilute it, then add a little extra sweetener to bring out the flavor. Tastes like orangeade....I also like that is 100% whey protein Isolate, which is the best absorbed.

They have other flavors as well- lemonade, ice tea etc... I just haven't tried them. I know some where on the web you can by single serving variety packs to try them....I buy mine off Netrition.com or Amazon...but if I am ordering other things Netrition comes out cheaper.

I looked those up after seeing your comment and order the test pack for post-op. Gives me hope. :)

Oh, good. I got a free sample of the fuzzy navel at the Obesity Action Coalition convention last August, that is how I found it. There are lots of 40% discount coupons floating around the web that people make money on....if you buy directly from their website...but the price at Netrition works out just as cheap.

Just know after surgery your tastebuds can be fickle. You may like something week one, hate it week 6 and back to liking it by 3 months. That is just the way it rolls. For me at week 5 I thought I would puke if I had to drink another protein drink. What saved me was the coffee flavored ones....Fit Frappe and Click. Eventually I got back to all of them.

Also if you buy protein Powders through GNC or Vitamin Shoppe they are returnable within 30 days with a receipt. GNC gives you a full refund, Vitamin Shoppe- store credit. I think Vitamin Shoppe has a better selection, even if you buy online, I am pretty sure you can return to store. I went through a lot of frogs before I found my protein powder princes. :) Inspire on Bariatriceating.com are very good tasting powders. The only one I didn't like though was the fruit summer melon one- I think it was called...

Premier Protein has a clear drink out now, there are ads here on OH for it. I've never tried it, but I've heard it tastes way better than the Isopure and similar to Atkins, but has more protein than Atkins.

Like a couple others have mentioned, I liked the fruity syntrax nectars flavors. I mixed them with 12oz crystal light lemonade instead of 8oz water - helped cut the "proteiny protein" taste

I also used the unjury chicken soup and made it with bone broth - it was definitely nice to have a savory warm alternative during the liquid phase! Just make sure you follow the directions regarding the temp of the liquid you mix it with - too hot and you get a disgusting clumpy mess...gross.

I use syntrax nectars and I order from www.si03.com. It's a little pricey for me so I asked for a coupon code to save 40 % off of their entire site. Just enter SYNTRAXSANDRA at checkout. My fave is fuzzy navel and Caribbean Cooler which is like a pina colada. Good luck.

One thing to remember is that your tastes very often change after surgery. A shake that is disgusting now might be tolerable afterwards! So don't stock up on any type of protein powder until you're on the other side of the operating table.

The milky shakes were easier for me to handle if I didn't have to smell them. I got a blender bottle with a straw lid, and that made it a lot easier to deal with.

I also like the Syntrax, and I dilute with Crystal Light as others have mentioned.
