my center is different. When I was on puree, they said wait 30 mins before and 30 after. Once I started on solid foods, they said I could drink right up to the point I started eating, but wait 60 minutes after. I think around six months out, they told me to try to wait 90 mins. The last time I went in (at one year out), a new (to me) dietitian told me to try to wait 2 hours, but 90 minutes was OK. That seemed really extreme - esp given all the fluid we have to drink, so I don't think I've ever waited two hours.

all that said, I usually wait 90 minutes, but sometimes I can't do to scheduling issues. But I almost never drop below 60 minutes.

15 years out, and I STILL don't drink with meals, and I still wait approximately 30 minutes after. I don't use a timer...I just have gotten used to doing it...I wish I had stayed this true to ALL the rules :)

I tell myself to wait 30 minutes, but I usually end up waiting longer.

I wait a minimum of 30 minutes after a meal to start drinking fluids again. However if I eat a heavy meal, usually something that has a lot of meat versus something lighter like fish, I wait longer, maybe 45 minutes to an hour.
