Road trip! Food ideas

I drove to Florida from Massachusetts and back this year (23 hour trip). We ate at hotels in the morning (eggs, maybe some sausage). I packed tuna salad and cottage cheese in our cooler for my lunch (we would stop in a rest area, so I had small plates and a plastic fork). We had sandwich makings in the cooler for DH. I did have planned snacks: light cheese sticks and almonds. We would stop for dinner and I would eat protein forward like usual. I sometimes (like at home) would have a protein bar later for "dessert". Basically I ate almost like I usually do, but kept to choices which were easy to carry in the car.

Thanks Liz! I'm not planning on introducing anything new while driving. :)

I love tuna pouches and baked seasoned tofu squares. Deli meats and cheeses also. And homemade beef jerky. Those are my go to easy foods. I don't do ready to drink protein drinks, but I travel with my own protein powder and can buy unsweetened almond milk anywhere.

Definitely jerky - Trader Joe's has some good jerky, I really like their salmon jerky (sounds weird but try it). Pork rinds. And flavored pouches of tuna and salmon - protein packed, no refrigeration required and the flavors let you have some variety!

Otherwise at trader joe's, I would check out the cheese section - great variety but alas, you don't have much cooler space. Aldi's has some good cheeses too. Oh and trader joe's has my favorite little pickles - French cornichons, little sour garlicky pickles - great with cheese.
