"You're Done"

Congrats on your success so far. I remember going for my one year check-up and my surgeon saying, "Good job, keep at it." I was almost kind of pissed. I was around 145 lbs, five pounds under my goal I had chosen. I had been bracing myself for the, "OK you did it, stop losing now." I left almost bummed out like, "Geeeeeze, how much more do you want from me??!!!" but I "kept at it" and lost a few more to get in my comfort zone. I'm glad he said it that way. To me there is no "done." I live by:

You are "done " only when you decide to be done.

i am 9 years post op. 5 years post op I had 35 lbs regain. I was still rather normal "size" - 8-10.. but the weight was affecting my back,. My doc told me to lose 15-20 lbs. i did that in 3 months. Then I got comfortable. I had my new "set point" only because I really stopped being very dedicated about losing the rest. I was "mostly good", exercised...

but last year- I decided taht I really want to have face lift - and I got very strict again - and I lost the additional 10 lbs. Putting me below my original goal.

are you happy where you are? then you are done. If not - then do something about it... "Mostly" does not cut it. "I'm not perfect with my diet but am on point most of the time..." and that's put you in maintenance.

if you want to lose more weight - then you need to work on it...

BTW: I am currently 10 lbs below my personal and doc goal... but 5 lbs above my lowest. my eating is "mostly good" but I woudl not mind gaining 2-3 lbs of muscles. (not fat - muscles)

I agree with everyone else. it is normal to stall more and slow down once you get into that "overweight" zone. I have seen people in their tickers who lose 90 in 6 months but it takes them 12 months to lose the next 10. I know now that I'm "overweight" I am going to have to fight tooth and nail for every single lb...I am being pristine with following my plan, because I know at this point it is the only thing that will get me further down.

You can do it if you stick it out. Stop where you want to. Your doctor has reached his medical goals, time for you to reach yours.

I am glad I wasn't done at 8 months -- I lost almost another 100 lbs in year two...

Hello Lisa!

You are almost at about the same age, height & starting weigh...

I agree with Grim... You need to reset & go back to what made you successful in the beginning...

Drink your 2-3 litres of water, get all your protein in, eat clean and be rigid with tracking your intake. Continue your exercising, add walking for an hour each day.

Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't achieve. If you want it go and get it!

You got this!

Continue to come here daily!

Take care & good luck

Sandra
