Is this worth documenting for potential plastics?
I get it - I used to weigh 750 pounds. trust me when I say, I've seen the legion of skin issues, including yeast issues.
Sports bras every day are a bad idea with obese skin, because they don't provide the wicking a traditional bra does. Once in a while or a few times a week, sure. For daily 12-18 hour wear though, "separate and lift" as it were provides less of the environment fungal infections relish. The microbes cling to the fabric instead of us, and they are easily dispatched of with warm water and soap.
It's actually something I had to figure out on my own, and I wound up calling the pathologist that treated my flesh-eating MRSA years before I gained the weight, and we came up with this solution.
Upon reflection, I was probably the only 750 pound woman to ever call a pathologist about her boobs, heh.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much...the life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully. -- Seneca, On the Shortness of Life
I developed a skin yeast issue 3 days post op, oral thrush as well. Surgeon said at 1st month post op visit to document with pictures if rash continues and they will document it in office visit notes. I am now just about 7 months out and the rash continues. I am using prescription powder and cream--clears up for a couple of weeks then returns with a vengeance. So I continue to take pictures...
Obviously I'm not wearing bras but I use old spice "pure sport" deodorant for my skin folds. It does a great job of controlling irritation and I don't have odor issues.
I'm three months out of surgery. I went from a very tight 40D and I bet I can wear a 38C now. I found inexpensive bras at WalMart. I know I need a new bra really soon. When I reach my goal I will get a better bra at Soma. But right now I'm about 30 pounds or a little more from my goal. My "girls" really look deflated.
With pants and tops, I'm down from a tight 18W to a 14 now. I have found inexpensive clothes at WalMart. I've been to several resale shops and can't find anything that looks good on me. I have bought items on sale at Old Navy and they are well fitting. Also TJMaxx and Marshalls have some good buys.
I just can't afford to spend a lot on clothes right now.
My surgeon told me to contact my internist if I have skin issues but so far I'm ok.

I hate underwires. After 30 years of Playtex 18-hour bras, after surgery I found I needed a little more help keeping the girls looking good. I buy Playtex Women's Secrets Perfectly Smooth Wire Free bras. They have molded cups and make the girls look great. They run about $20 on Amazon, and I also bought a pack of several bra extenders--2 and 3 hook versions in black, nude, and white, also at Amazon for under $7. Now, when I order a new bra, I order it 2 sizes smaller around, and just use the extenders. Eventually I don't need the extender anymore. Saving me a bundle on buying new bras every new size.
