My clothing dilemma
I am currently wearing size 24 pants that are way too big on me. I have two pairs of transitional jeans that are sizes 16 and 18. I'm debating whether or not to buy a size 20 at Goodwill because the constant pants-holding thing at work is getting old fast. A belt is an easy solution but I hate them and don't own any. I've ended up relying on my vast collection of dresses and wearing those 3 or 4 times a week instead of the 1 or 2 times before. If you were me, would you cave and get a size 20 pair?

I honestly would rather wear really big pants than wear a belt. I have a lot of sensory issues related to being autistic and for some reason the belt is a big problem for me.

I would buy used clothes during the process. It is lot cheaper than past eating habits at fast food places. It will make you happy to see the new you.

I always bought clothes that fit me properly. I was in a professional position and had to "dress for success".
At times, I had only two pairs of pants that fit and washed them out at night if needed.
When I got to size 12, I bought a lot of pants and jeans thinking I would never get smaller than that.
I ended up in size 4. Walking around in ill-fitting clothes is demoralizing. Buy pants that fit even if they are used or if you only have one pair and have to wa**** out at night.

I did the same thing when I got to a size 8. I thought, "there is no way I could get smaller..." and bought some really expensive and professional clothes. I specifically remember paying $110 for a nice pair of pants. Of course, the minute I spent that money, I dropped down quickly, and those clothes were useless.
I just went to a clearance outlet and found those same $110 pants for $15! And this time I got them in a size 2 :)

This....this is the only annoying thing about weight loss. I have bought a few things in each size as I dropped. but it is annoying only being able to wear something you love once or twice before it no longer looks good.
I started buying multiples a couple of months ago if I saw something I liked super on sale. eg I bought my favorite dress in a 12 and an 8. I only wore the 12 twice. I found jeans I love for 11 dollars. I bought them in 12/10/8 two months ago...wish I'd gotten a 6 as well as I'm wearing the 8's today and never even took the tags of the 10's.
I have just organized a months worth of clothing by size. I've organized it so the stuff I'm likely to shrink out of soon is what is at the front to be worn in the next week or two. That way I'll get as much use out of them as I can.
Having said that I had a shopping spree on the weekend and bought a lot of blouses/shirts. they are all size small so I figure I won't shrink out of those. even if I lose another 25/30lbs I'll probably still be in a size small shirt, right?

I TOTALLY agree. Now that I -can- buy clothes that fit well, I hate wearing clothes that don't. Pretty much the moment something start feeling/looking the slightest bit baggy, I toss it in the donation bin. I was much less picky before.
This is actually something I'm concerned about with plastic surgery. I know that swelling is a thing and, with having multiple surgeries, I know that my body will be change quickly and unevenly. So on the one hand, I really don't want to buy new clothes until plastics are all finished. On the other hand, I don't want to wear clothes that don't fit well in the meantime!

I didn't swell much with TT (nor did I lose any sizes), but it seems like it differs from person to person (probably depends on amount of skin and Lipo?).
