I have been super lucky where nausea has been a very minimal issue for me. I usually only get nauseous for "no reason" maybe twice a month, nothing earth shattering. I've been using 20mg Omeprazole that was prescribed to me right after surgery. My doctor gave me unlimited refills for a year, but the pharmacy gives me headaches whenever I try to refill. Call doctor, wait a few days, get approval, finally get refilled, etc etc. I've been looking into alternatives, but A lot of what I'm seeing is Time delayed pills which I was told to stay away from after surgery.

Anyone have any recommendations?

You can get Omeprazole over the counter.

I was told to take Prilosec OTC (delayed release 20mg omeprazole) every day for the first 6 months after surgery. Additionally, I take an antidepressant and blood pressure medication that are both time released. I have had no issues whatsoever, and was told my my surgeon there was no problem taking any of them.

I am taking the Prilosec OTC for another month as prescribed. We'll see after that.

I got Zofran from my surgeon - the type that dissolves on the tongue. I still use it once in a blue moon, still the original prescription too since he gave me plenty. Maybe ask for that?

And Omeprazole is a PPI - those are available OTC but are for acid. Do you know what's causing your nausea?

I totally forgot, but I also was given a prescription for Zofran after surgery. I was given 10 tablets only, and I ended up using them over the first couple of months. They did work great, though!

Omeprazole aids with reflux, not nausea. Are you drinking plenty? i ask because nausea is a common symptom of dehydration. Also, with the sleeve, you have no malabsorption, so time relased meds shouldn't be a problem like they are with RNY and DS.
