True. I decided except in WLS support groups I don't tell people how much I've lost. Even from the beginning I had a script- "I made a decision not to share that, maybe I will feel differently at some point, but not now."

Hi NYMom222,

When I first decided to have surgery and then when I had complications didn't tell but a few. Once I lost over 100 pounds and realized I got this, I am really going to do this you could not shut me up Some friends got so tired of hearing about it they didn't want to be around me. Looking back they were right

It is not that I don't share I had surgery...Just don't share the number.... It is anumber most people can't relate to. I not only lost a person, I lost a large person...

Right now I'm at goal...(the same weight I was at when I hit goal 10 years ago....HOWEVER, I notice that I'm not happy at this weight now. I feel that I could lose another 10. I'm guessing it's age....maybe loss of muscle tone from not working out for 5 years?

Scottie trust me it's muscle tone. Find something you love to do and get moving. Make it resistant and give it at least 60-90 days. You will be amazed! Try this, I LOVE IT Don't be intimidated, as you use your own weight and slowly build up. But the results is great. I love feeling strong. It's an age thing for me too!

The "concern" about my being "too skinny" started when I got down to 220 lbs. I actually have get down to 173 lbs. before I will simply be overweight...

I just nod, smile and say I have still a few more pounds to lose.

Hi AggieMae

I explained to a good friend of mine that is losing regain with me that it's about how I feel when I move and do what I love. At may age it really is "use it or lose it"

I don't think that is why. I think they want to be inspired. A picture does speak a thousand words.

Pictures made it real for me. I could read and read. But when I saw the pictures of people it did give me hope. I know that sounds vain.

I think also when we see a face it makes the person real. Not just a robot behind the posts.
