What food does your sleeve/pouch gripe about?
I absolutely cannot stand the way casseroles feel in my sleeve...like something all melty and soft with lumpy meat in it. Tuna is what I call my "loud food" and I don't like how it sits but I can eat canned chicken ok. It sits better if it's the chicken in the pouch container....I don't know why. I hate the way eggs feel in my stomach. The only way to describe is lumpy. I love dense meat! It sits pretty lol. Once, I ate some homemade berry cobbler my MIL made and that came out faster than it went in. I don't think it was the official dumping syndrome but there was some dumping for sure . I have not tried any sweets since then.

I love how we can describe that certain foods just don't feel right. Deli meat to me is "grindy". I keep wanting to sit up straighter or walk because it's just not all the way down like it should be. Eggs are heavy and make me full way too fast, I can't even eat a bariatric portion. But I still like them/the taste.
I've only had one casserole and it was really, really loud but felt ok.

I need to try these egg bites. The nearest Starbucks is 80+ miles I tried to get some in an airport Starbucks but I don't think they had them!

I'm 8 years post RNY.
Dense meat or dry meat (I'm usually ok with ground meat if I have salsa or something to help moisten it.
Any thing fatty - nothing deep or pan fried. I've had no fast food for 8 years! (Except soup or ice tea).
Raw veggies that are dense - carrots, celery, kohlrabi, radishes, etc. (Moist veggies like tomatoes, yellow pepper, peeled cucumber, lettuce is OK - but I must chew thoroughly).
Anything with more than 15 grams of sugar makes a reactive hypoglycemia episode - unless it is at a meal with protein and veggies.
Sometimes the smell of some foods makes me feel nauseous and I just can't eat them (tuna, other fish, poultry. smell of fried food often makes me nauseous and I just have liquid protein or some hot tea with some half and half until the nausea goes away.
My little pouch (measures 2-3 ounces at last endoscopy) is just very grouchy at times - but I'm doing well and eating for me is for nutrition and energy - not so enjoyable as it used to be.

I have a hot protein drink for breakfast. (Chocolate with choice of SF syrups- Torani or DiVinci.
Lunch: Salad with small pieces of meat, boiled egg, cheese (sometimes tuna) for lunch. I also like organic deli type ham or turkey rolled around half of a organic cheese stick or some kind of cheese. I usually have 1/2 cup of berries of some sort.
Supper: is often this mix: Fage 0% unflavored greek yogurt, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, scoop of vanilla whey isolate protein powder, 1T. flax seed and sugar free Cinnamon Brown sugar syrup and sugar free caramel syrup, dash of pumpkin pie spice - mix it up and sprinkle cinnamon on top. (Brands I use give me 48 gm of proteinand 300 calories for this mix.)
If my pouch is good or we are away from home - I usually have some meat and vegetable or scrambled eggs with turkey sausage.
I snack on Kay's Gluten Free protein bites or cereal or have 1/2 of a protein bar (my rule is 1 gram protein for every 10 calories) Most protein bars I choose have 200 calories and 20 grams protein. I also snack on deli ham/turkey and cheese, and sometimes nuts.
I drink lots of hot and iced tea and have 1/2 serving of Lindt dark chocolate with sea salt with a cup of hot tea before bed.
I average about 100 gm of protein a day and about 1000 calories. I eat very little processed food because of the preservatives and I'm gluten intolerant.
Hope that helps,
Penny
I love Premier Protein served hot with Torani syrup! I also love it mixed half & half with decaf coffee. I do that before bed most nights.
