What food does your sleeve/pouch gripe about?
And I don't mean those things we all know we shouldn't eat and regret later. I mean the thing that should be perfectly acceptable but it says NOPE. NOT TODAY. So far, I have two:
- Aidelli Brand Chicken Sausage (in link, meatball or patty form). This one just literally won't go down.
- Deli Meat. Both turkey and ham so far. I don't feel pain it just feels like my stomach is going to grind itself to death and it's "right there" in my throat. I've tried both the pre-packaged and deli cut varieties. This one is sad to me, and I keep re-trying because it's such an easy lunch!

There's nothing at that point. I am 3 years out.
In the first year, I often had trouble with tuna, cucumbers and lunch meats.
Disclaimer: I haven't tried certain things that aren't on my plan: bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, candy, ice cream, etc -- so I have no idea if I "dump" or if those things bother me.

I'm fine with everything good for me. Too much sugar/carbs makes me not feel too good sometimes (in some ways it is a shame that this doesn't always happen). Like the 1/4 piece of coconut cream pie yesterday. My innards complained for a couple of hours.
i have to be careful not to eat too much lettuce (diarrhea).

At three years out the only time I have a problem is when I do something stupid. Meaning not chewing my food as much as I should.
Also making sure I am not too hungry when I sit down at the table. I can forget that I had the surgery and then I have to lay down or walk it off.
I posted about the Girl Scout cookies this morning. They just made me feel like crap. So I know I have to really focus on protein forward. And understand that I am a food addict.
A lot of things I make sure I try them at home. So I know I won't have an issue when I am out.
Ground meat. I can tolerate it about 25% of the time - the other 75% is a VERY painful experience. It hurts, and it's like it gets stuck in my pouch. Can't explain it, but I basically avoid it at this point, but it's a bummer as ground meat is VERY pervasive in recipes! I sub things out myself, but when someone else makes it.....or someone is serving burgers in the summer.....ugh.
And eggs. Eggs make me nauseated for some reason. I always enjoyed eggs before, but now even a few bites and I start feeling queasy. However, if they are an ingredient in a recipe, I have no issues Just can't eat them straight up.
I'm 10 weeks out and I haven't tried ground beef yet because I've heard some horror stories. I want to try it soon though because the ability to get a burger out is so much more common than other protein.

I waited to have any beef until 4 months out at the suggestion of my surgeons office. I was allowed to have it earlier but they warned that it might be difficult to tolerate at first. I did fine with it after that point.
