Moderation my Arse

I make all our bread, rolls, biscuits, etc. It used to kill me -- but now, I am so used to baking it every week without tasting or eating it -- that I've gotten accustomed to it.
Soon, it will be time for me to make our Easter bread -- that one is really tough for me. It's absolutely my favorite, especially toasted. Last year, I secretly wished very bad things on my family while they ate it. VERY bad things...

Yeah, my secret is that a lot of spit goes into it.
Snicker.
Just kidding.
Maybe...

I make ( well mostly shape bake nd roll or frost these days ) very healthy sourdough whole wheat " stuff" like fat free decadent fat free nd Splenda or Truvia cream cheese frosted butter buds dripping cinnamon rolls .. Parmesan crusted fat free whole wheat / Ezekiel ( sprouted wheat and grains : very nutty tasting) breadsticks to serve with fresh veggie soups and fat free chicken or wild caught tuna salads .
Seriously I don't find them fattening at all ... maybe because homemade bread ( pre op my favorite food) just doesn't turn me on at all anymore . Please don't get me wrong - I'm still super picky about the historical " race " grains I eat , the " right " sourdough technique... it's just that I can smell the deliciousness in the oven and ( thank God ) no longer want it . I'll have a taste to make sure it's ok serve it and never look back . ( the result of dumping? )

I cannot do that. I have Binge Eating Disorder and I am a food addict. I know my triggers. "Healthy" or not, I cannot eat breads, rices, grains -- carbs. I am one slice away from being 347 pounds again.
Food is my addiction, and I am in recovery. That is how I remain successful.
You're lucky that you can do that. I cannot.

I'm struggling with deciding to make our traditional 'Easter Bun'. (Think fruit cake-- but 100x better). No one else in my house eats it-- so I'd be setting myself up for failure-- but it's just not Easter without Easter Bun. The thing I miss the most in this journey are the cultural foods I grew up on.

I know exactly what Easter Bun is!! Do you have Jamaican ancestry???
IT IS AMAZING, if so!!!

Yup- I'm American but both my parents are Jamaican immigrants. I was raised on Jamaican foods- can cook pretty good too. I miss Easter Bun- and buying it is not the same as making it. I married an American with no West Indian background, so there is little interest from him or my kids for my cultural preferences.
I feel like that side of me is dying :-(
