Instant Pot-Do you love it? Yogurt
I've had one for 16 months now. I don't love it, but I do use it. The only thing I replaced when I got it was a stovetop pressure cooker that I didn't use anyway. I use my IP for hard boiling eggs, curry, and broth. All of these things I could do, easily, in other vessels.
The IP really excels at braising meat and my family aren't huge braised meat lovers so..... yeah.

Thank you Gwen--My family are meat eaters so I think we would use it more. I just looked at your numbers again...way to keep in check!!
My family loves meat too just not so much with the braised meats.

I've read to use either 2% or whole milk. Anything under 2% doesn't set up correctly - or at least on its own (commercial yogurt companies use additives to get lower fat milks to set up).
Yes - Greek yogurt is higher in protein volume-wise. If you take one cup of unstrained yogurt that has like 12 grams of protein in it and then strain out the water so it's only 1/2 cup, you've still got 12 grams of protein (well, maybe a little less since some of the protein is in the whey - so lets say 9 grams). (I'm pulling these numbers out of the blue, by the way). So that means one cup of regular yogurt is 12 grams of protein - whereas one cup of your Greek is 18 grams (9 grams per half cup).
I love the IP for making yogurt. I have a yogurt maker but always use the IP now since I can dump a whole gallon of milk in at once...
You are awesome Catwoman7...not only for posting but for being so successful in losing and maintaining!! I tried to look at your profile, but I think we have to be friends. Thank you for breaking it down for me...absolutely Greek is the way to go... with not much room in the stomach to meet the protein needed! Thanks again and congrats!
I like stewed foods.....I always have. It's very quick to dump ingredients into the IP, press a button, and walk away. I bring IP food to work too-again SO easy.
I think it's saved us 1000s of dollars on eating out since Black Friday. I use to eat out for lunch and many dinners...now I hardly eat out.

Wow-you sure do! I just ordered the 8qt one a few minutes ago. I plan to make meals in it that I can eat (when I am on normal food again-or ma**** up) as well as my family. My teenagers eat quite a bit, especially my 6 ft 1 inch --14 year old son. Recently he has been gluten intolerant, pizza, bread, etc, kill his stomach so I am looking forward to using it for meat and veggies. Do you have a particular website you like for recipes or anyone on Instagram? Pretty sure we will be saving $ too, I pack their lunches so this will be helpful! Thank you for taking the time to reply!!
I also like stew, chicken crack (although this got old quick), I like beef stroganoff.
I'm one of those weird people that can eat the same thing every day and still be ok with it. So I make a lot of the same things over and over again, because I know what I like.
I would say that I have not really had a bad experience with the IP. It works great on hard boiled eggs as well (I like these too!).
I make a lot of kid friendly meals, I have a teen. You can make mac and cheese from scratch in very little time (4 cups of water to 1 lb of pasta).

PS My favorite thing about the IP is that you can dump things in and go. You don't have to tend them, mix them, or "ensure" that it doesn't burn. That saves me a TON of time.
