Getting sick more often after surgery?
I think that for me, I have gotten sick less often. This year has been horrible for colds/bugs and flu. My family has had multiple colds and stomach bugs. My youngest had fevers, my husband got stuck in a hotel in South Dakota puking and pooping, so he couldn't fly home for 2 days. I have had nothing more than a sniffle all winter.
I think it's just coincidence that you've gotten sick, I don't think it's directly related to your surgery.
I had surgery in December and since then I've had 3 colds/flu (pretty sure one cold, one flu, and one that could have been either) and strep throat once. I even had a flu shot this year. Is it normal to have a worse immune system post-op? Does it get better over time?
no,I have actually found just tho opposite. In fact, this year,I have not been sick at all.
For what it's worth, here in Ohio, we've had a pretty rough flu season. Not just the current type of flu strain, but upper respiratory colds etc... it might just be a combination of your immune system fighting to heal from the surgery and an increase in the bugs around you?

I too have had the opposite since my surgery. I'm a little over 2 years post op and I've only had 1 mild cold since 2015. But, I do know alot of my friends who also got the flu shot have been getting really sick frequently. I continue to take my vitamins, vitamin C and I wash my hands frequently. It will get better. Take care.
I have to join the rest and say I haven't been sick at all. But, my daughter has had a rough go of it with strep throat, colds and of all things hand foot and mouth!
