I'm hooked on Diet Coke, and I tried switching to a stevia cola a few years ago.
I figure-- I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs, I wear my seatbelt and my bike helmet, I even eat the occasional green vegetable. I'm allowed to have one vice!!

I hadn't used any artificial sweeteners in about 5 years before surgery... they didn't seem to make a difference in my weight, so why bother? use the real stuff...
So transitioning to sweetener was tough for me... I tried everything, and all different brands. I find liquids more palatable then powder and my understanding from the low-carb minions is that if you use a lot per day (whatever that is) you are getting some carbs in. So little in one packet they don't have to claim it...but it adds up.
So I use liquid splenda. For cooking I use Brown Sugar truvia (not totally sugar free-has some molasses in it) and Swerve which is erythritol.
And I do love my flavored syrups... Irish cream in my coffee every morning...
