Do you think I will be okay to go to Disney 3 months after RNY ?
With this question I am remembering my early days after Rny. I was Dehydrated and dizzy all the time from so much walking I did. I walked 3 to 5 miles every day right after Wls. Always in the E. R. I would wait at least 1 yr. after Wls to go to that big of a vacation. You definitely would not be able to eat any of the food they have at Disneyland that soon after Wls. You would be throwing up a lot. That's just way tooo soon after Wls to go to an event like that and be comfortable all day.

I cannot Believe you all are saying it will be Ok that soon after Rny Wls...Maybe a different Wls but definitely not Rny that soon after surgery. Your body is going through so many changes. If I were to go to Disneyland, I'd want to be able to enjoy more than a few kiddy rides. I'm 10 yrs Post Op today. Been through many different things since my Rny.Disneyland is expensive these days I heard. Espically in the middle of summer. Theres always the next summer after you know what works for you after Wls to be comfortable at an amusement park. I'm not trying to be negative but this is reality..The car ride would be ok, with AC on but not walking around and trying to go on rides so soon after Wls. Unless you are just going to go and not ride on rides at all.Heck even just walking around in the middle of summer just a few months after your surgery, your Blood sugars are going to go up and down so fast. I learned that after my last stent put in and did Physical therapy, I passed out a few times, had to sit down for a couple of hours and eat and drink more to get my sugars back to normal, then I was still weak from the abrupt changes that my sugar levels were in an instant from so much activity.

I plan on going on every ride, I LOVE Disney World it's one of the main reasons I'm having this surgery. So I can enjoy it better without feeling like a sloppy cow. Sweating to death and huffing like I'm trying to blow down the three little pigs house. The only place I don't do the rides is universal (the dark side) but we go just for our sons. I'm really just concerned about the pain. I have a ridiculously high tolerance for pain So I'm hopeful that I will be okay. I just want to be sure that my stomach is going to be healed by then I don't want to rip any stitches or anything. That's my main concern is being healed enough. Thanks for the advice I do appreciate it. I do get light headed now at times and that's before my surgery so maybe I should rent a scooter.
How old are you!? How is your general health?
After the beach, WDW is my favorite place, on Earth. I had an extensive, open RNY, and, given the option, would have gone there, straight from the Recovery Room...well...not really, but you get the idea...
Is your surgeon planning open or lap? Either way, barring any unforeseen complications, I cannot imagine any reasons why, in 3 MONTHS...NINETY days, you couldn't enjoy WDW...especially since you are already familiar with the offerings there. No, I probably wouldn't do herky jerky droppy rides...just because of the obvious...and drinking WATER is a no brainer, but you certainly strike me as smart enough to already know know THAT...duh...
As one Disney girl, to another..you GO, girl...and color me green....

I will be 35, my general health is excellent I just had all my clearances done and doctors are baffled I don't have sleep apnea, my heart is great, no high blood pressure, no diabetes. I'm just a lover of food. The cardiologist was trying to talk me out of surgery saying I was healthy enough to do it on my own.
At 360 pounds it is good that you realize the odds of getting to a healthy weight and staying there are next to nil without weight loss surgery. Do not let anyone talk you out of it.

One of the great things about being a few years out is that when you stay around here on OH to kind of pay it forward to newbies you quickly realize that your personal experience is not indicative of anyone else's. You've chosen not to participate here much and that is your prerogative but please don't jump to conclusions based on information you don't have.
You yourself admit that you've had or still have many health problems. Honestly I doubt you and the OP share anything health related other than perhaps the same surgery type. Please don't put so much energy into discouraging others for no good reason.
I think I may have had a different surgery to some, because I could have done this a month after surgery! I quit being a patient the day I left hospital and if you do the same, you'll be fine!
