Wow, I'm sorry they are doing that to you. Did you talk to your Primary Care doc as well? I know our surgeon's office gives a few days worth and says if you find you need more you need to go to your PC doc.

I didn't even think of that. I just assumed it was up to the surgeon to make sure the pain is treated. Thanks for the heads up. Plus she has known me for many years, and knows I don't abuse perscription drugs or take illegal ones.

It's is funny though, since writing this post my pain has improved. So I'm hoping I am turning the corner. But if not, I will be calling my PCP.

Just a thought: Maybe some of the pain is because of constipation? When I had my TT, I ended up with a lot of pain because of that. I had stopped the opiates a day or so before but they had already caused the problem. I was miserable until it was relieved (needed to take miralax).

I was advised to take Benadryl with my pain medication ..... so, if my Percocet was prescribed as '1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours', I took 1 Percocet and 35 mg of Benadryl every 6 hours.

the Benadryl helped reduce any itching from the pain med and also helped me sleep, which allowed me to need less pain medication.

hope you get the relief you need.

Kath
