8 1/2 weeks and I've only hit 700 once. I generally see 600-650. I also end up on the lower end of the 60-80g of protein but my portions are pretty small still.

VSG: 1/17/17

I was also told not to worry about calories the first few weeks - to just focus on protein and fluids.

My calorie intake was higher than some of the other posters, but I don't think I was consistently in the 1000-1200 range until I was close to a year out.

I think Kat's guidlines are pretty accurate. I always counted protein not calories, but when I did MFP I could see what my calories were. My calories weren't the same everyday depending on choices I would say I was in the 500-600 range at that point.

Just a note: this is surgery specific. DSers do not count calories. We count carbs when we are trying to lose weight.
