Happy Friday Everyone!

I just wanted to make a quick post for those of you curious about the patches. Please keep in mind this is MY personal experience.

I had my 3 months post OP tests done and the nurse called me to let me know my results were in and everything looked great! I've been using the following Patches:

Multi vit. patch

calcium + vit. D patch

Iron + vit. C patch

B12 I take the pills every 3rd day.

I am aware that it's only been 3 months put when I have my 6 month follow-up I will let you all know how that goes.

I have my 6-mo follow-up 3/28, looking forward to seeing what my numbers are. I am doing the iron patch and calcium patch. My surgeon's office did not recommend them because they did not know enough, so I am a guinea pig ;)

My center was not against them but they also said they haven't been around for too long. they did say that they had a few patients using them and they've had good results. Let us know how you do. Good luck!

Not to be a downer, but truly, unless you have gone into surgery with a deficiency, most people have "normal" results in the first year to 18 months. Also, without knowing your actual levels, where you started, and charting them as you go, you really have no way of knowing if you're trending down, maintaining or elevating.

This is not to say that the Patches aren't working wonderfully -- however, I would highly recommend you get your actual results and watch for trends.

Thanks for your input.

OObviously my healthcare team has my previous levels and I'm sure as professionals they are aware of how to track my progress by comparing with my previous results. Yes, I could call the clinic and get my test results but since they are professionals in the medical field and know much better then I do on how to track it, I will leave this one up to them. For now I am content with knowing that I'm doing great.

I've seen quite a few people write the same exact thing. And many of them ended up with horrible deficiencies and resulting medical problems. All of which were easy to avoid.

Why not get the actual results, and track them yourself? It takes very little effort. It's YOUR health, and NO ONE is going to look at it as closely, and care about it as much, as you.

You might be surprised how often results get lost, not reviewed, or scanned into the wrong chart. Asking for your results isn't demonstrating a lack of faith in your doctor but rather taking responsibility for your health.

Lab values come in a wide range. You can have values at the low end of normal and have a doctor tell you it is great or fine.

No one cares as much about your health as much as you should. The professionals are too busy to actually look for trends in YOUR levels. Get all your results and put them on a spreadsheet as watch for your trends. Seriously. Once they start going downward, it is hard to get them back up.
