I'm only half-way through, but I've never seen Dr. Now so worked up! He tore in to James' family. I feel so bad for his daughter who had to witness that. So unfair to her!

***Spoiler alert***

I'm seeing a trend this season of folks who are more stubborn then I've seen on the show before. This guy annoyed the hell out of me- he was like a whiny 10 year old when he didn't get his way. And in such deep, deep denial about his eating habits. I'm glad Dr Now refused to treat him; but I fear James' outcome will be death.

The entire time I was thinking his daughter doesn't need to be subjected to any of this this!

Re: skin tight: I'm likely far more comfortable with my excess skin than most- but the attitudes of people in skin right annoy me. I'm glad the guy's heart condition was found and fixed-- and put him into a new perspective about his skin. And is it me, or did that woman look no where near 165 pre skin removal??

I ended up forwarding through most of it. I could not take this guy's whining. It was almost as bad as my 3-y-o nephew. Almost.

Peach--glad it wasn't just me. Thought maybe I was having sour grapes. Her legs, in particular looked awfully large. At one point the doctor even said something about them still being heavy (actually he said the F word)...I GUESS she worked out a lot...but...I didn't see the muscle definition I see in most of the folks...

I felt sorry for the man, not getting his surgery...BUT...if he hadn't been going for the PS, they wouldn't have found the heart problem, and he could have dropped dead, from a sudden cardiac event...even HE said it's all good...for now

I love Dr Now and am glad that he wants to get through to his patients that the surgery is not a magic solution to their weight problems. I do agree though that the poor daughter didn't need to be exposed to any of the junk going on. I felt so bad for her through the whole thing.

With skin tight I thought that the woman did look heavier then 165 at first but then I realized how short she is so it makes her look heavier. She is probably less then 5 feet tall. I was glad to see that they aired the guys situation even though he didn't end up with skin removal because it's so important that people realize health comes first.

Had VSG on 9/28/15

Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!

OMG the James story was enfuriating! what the daughter is going through is abuse. they pulled her out of school to be a home nurse...how does a parent live with themselves after that. James presents like a narcissist and his girlfriend is continuing the abuse cycle and subjecting her daughter to it too. sad all around. What amazed me was the constant lying...I'm caught but I'm going to keep on lying. I wish they would do updates at the end of the show. I imagine it was probably taped 6 months ago. I wonder if he is still alive today.

oh and the I'm going to eat 10,000 calories a day and burn it all up by waving my hands around in the air for 5 minutes...OMG!

I want updates too! The earlier seasons showed years 1-5, I think?

The whining though - omg. I had to fast forward most of it. This episode was one of the hardest to watch of all of them so far.

I typically look away during the surgical part of the show, but this time I could no****ch when they showed his legs, with his skin condition. At this point, it's so obvious that they are using these people for ratings.

TLC did do a Where are they now follow up show, but I don't know if they keep doing it every year.

Dr. Now really tore into both of them, but I don't understand why he didn't suggest therapy. I mean unless he turned it down. Plus I don't know if he knows the wife is a battered wife survivor. I'm not sure if going from 1 bad relationship to another one was going to give her the strength to not give him what he wanted, even if it killed him. I'm sure her last husband yelled at her, she probably couldn't handle it again.

I also cringed at his legs. I can't believe they got so bad!

That was one of the most disturbing episodes. Glad Dr. Now did not treat him. And I felt so bad for the daughter.
