NSV - I had JUST one
Amy R. nailed it. This is why I'm so glad I lurked here before my surgery. To me, it was eye-opening reading the boards. It seemed for every post that started "having surgery in x days!" There was a matching post of "had surgery x years ago and gained most of it back!"

Some of the comments (okay a lot) do sting but in no way is it offending me. For the most part I am alone in my journey even though I thought my only one cookie was a victory I am understanding from others why it might not be. If it werent for other's advice I wouldn't see the down side and would do it again
This is a great attitude.

Can't tell you how glad I am to see this response.
There isn't a doubt in my mind that you will be one of the successful ones. You'll make your mistakes - all of us do - but being willing to regroup and make needed changes is what makes all of the difference.

You've got a winning attitude.

Awesome attitude. It can definitely seem like a victory to have only one but the long time vets know that it's a slippery slope. Those vets are blunt but really helpful. And almost always correct.
I was alone with my journey too and those board was insanely helpful if you use it correctly- seems like you're on that path!

Amy- I sure wish you had been around back when I was screwing up...the first 100 times...your post literally brought tears, to my eyes...
As a long time post op, I truly try to "pay it forward", and tend to be a no BS type person...too much so, sometimes...but my heart is in the right place...thank you, for explaining, in such a beautiful way, what it is so many of us are TRYING to do :)

We Can Do Hard Things
Thank you for that Gina. I wish I'd been around for my own first 100 screw-ups. Fortunately you guys were all here waiting for me when I took my blinders off and came back.
If it weren't for all of the truths served up by those that had never left, I honestly believe I'd be right back where I started pre-op. Or, quite literally, dead.
You're one of the inspirations my dear. And one of the most gracious ones at that.
As a 'successful' sleever who gained back 97 (45 of which I have dropped since OCT). Congrats on having just one.
NOW FLUSH THE REST AND HAVE SOME PROTEIN!!!!
This all seems harsh, but its out of support and a desire to see you succeed in the long run. Don't do what I did. Lose it once and keep it off.
