My 600-lb. Life - Tanisha's Story

Isn't that the truth? In the first season, people actually lost enormous amounts of their excess weight by the end of the 12 months. Now we have to watch someone struggle, self-sabotage, and fight against their demons for 11.5 months with a sliver of hope popped onto the end.
Why do you think they have changed the format Cecily? Or maybe the struggle is getting harder and harder? I can't imagine that thought
I wish they would start dealing with the head issues from day one. You know when they hand you the sheet with a list of do's and don'ts there should be a contact list for help with the reason we eat emotionally

I apologize profusely to the person I heard this from and now can't remember who it was, but I read a forum post somewhere from a person who sent in an audition for the show and was turned down because they were too put together emotionally and family-wise. They had gone on to be successful with surgery on their own, but it really showed me that they are not looking for people who can be successful, but for the most drama for their buck.
And given the health ramifications of weighing 600 lbs., I can't help but feel that some of these people are being taken advantage of for ratings. They aren't in the right head space for a major life change and they don't get the intensive counseling you mention that's so important. I guess they figure more drama brings viewers and following the rules and losing weight doesn't.
My wife and I were just talking the other day about how this whole season has really featured some really out-there people. This would make total sense.
