My 600-lb. Life - Tanisha's Story

Wow, this one had me on a roller coaster of all kinds of emotions! Yes, I work all week and then watch all my shows recorded on the weekend.

Never have I seen anyone so abused and hurt as this woman... No wonder she used food as her protector, but as we all know the layers of fat we put on to protect us, ends up killing us. Never have I watched an episode where I was sure the next thing I would see what her dead in a coffin.

What struck me the most was the 3 generations of weight battle. Her mom dying at 50 and morbidly obese. Tanisha and her daughters were following in her foot steps. Broke my heart when her little girl thought it was her fault her Mom was so overweight. She heard how her Mom gained over 100 pounds during her pregnancy with her and had a lot of complications. Did you see the daughter when she took a bite of her Mom's salad and gagged, I guess they don't eat greens? A year later you saw the same daughter had gained weight and so the cycle continues

The lesson here is when you make these changes to live and move it should be a family affair

I agree. This episode really broke my heart for all of them. I too was surprised when she had surgery toward the end. I was afraid she was going to end up at least in the hospital with a heart attack or something with how she kept giving up and going back to her old bad habits and regaining weight. I will be interested to see if she does a follow up episode to see if she has stuck with the needed lifestyle changes. I hope so for her and her kids sake.

Did you feel while watching this Dr. Now did the surgery sooner then he normally does because he felt she was going to die? You know he usually likes them to lose more weight, but I think once she did the 30 pounds he thought we have to do this.

I hope she changes too to stop the cycle.

I hadn't thought of that. I do agree that he did do it sooner then I thought he would have.

I think he feared she was running out of time. Remember when he saw her around 580 and said you might have 6 months? Then when she came back she was over 600? Let's hope she is successful!!!

I had some of the same thoughts as you did. She needed therapy first and then the surgery, poor thing.

I was also surprised that Dr. Now took her back the last time. He must be a saint.

Hi Jan

I am glad the show did not give up, even when she tried to kick them to the curb

Either there will be follow-up episodes this season or next season. All of the stories this season are unfinished.

I know. I really feel like every episode left so much unfinished business. Hope the following comes soon.
