What's something you didn't consider before WLS?
HaHa, I'm part of deflate gate nation too. lol

It's been a while since my surgery, but I didn't realize my car would become so uncomfortable! The seat was so squished from me being so heavy and when I lost the weight, I sank down much further. It was a low sitting car to begin with (Saturn). But I did find it easier to get out of without all the extra padding.
The seat in my Yukon has a bar that goes across it right by my belt line. Nobody else can feel it but my boney ass sure can!
My recliner at home is the same way. I actually used to sleep there a few nights a week. Now, the family is lucky if they can even get me to sit down before bed time.

That the feelings of insecurity shyness and reluctance to try that I blamed on my weight would come back as " you're too old " " you missed your chance" " you're too imperfect " .
Thank God post op I did listen to friends suggestions here to try therapy.
It's been a lifesaver! ( and a career - builder)
I wasn't expecting my gait to change, even though it makes sense that I walk differently because I'm no longer supporting 150 extra pounds. It was a bonus. Plus-I had to buy new shoes. Darn it.
I was expecting extra skin, I expected the girls to head south for the winter-and stay there, but it still kind of messes with me.
I wasn't expecting my ass to go bye bye. I had quite the booty pre-RNY. Now? Pfft..literally. Pffft: the sound of my ass deflating. Even so-best thing I ever did for myself.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Oh my goodness! My gait has completely changed as well! Sometimes, my feet feel weird underneath me, and I trip occasionally...but only when I think about it. I started noticing the noise I make when I walk is completely different. My thighs aren't rubbing together anymore, and I think that's a huge part of it.

I knew their would be skin, but never expected I would want Plastic Surgery. The idea of 'cosmetic' surgery was so not even a thought in my head. I realize now it has nothing to do with cosmetics, it is just to feel normal.
Had to get rid of my shoes. My feet are much thinner, did not lose a shoe size as some do...but they are thinner.
That I would like exercising and would miss it when I don't do something... I like to change it up, and am not a gym rat. Even found out I really love hiking.
I have fallen quite a few times since I am at goal- giant comical pratfalls ... where me and stuff goes flying everywhere...I think I am not used to the physical dynamics of my new body. Hasn't happened recently but there were quite a few for awhile there....

The new center of gravity was tough for me to get used to. I practiced walking in front of mirrors a lot after I got to goal. I know lots of post-op people and noticed a lot of us walk like cavemen. I was determined NOT to walk like that.
