I like the sense of community and support that I have always gotten here, and I've been here a while too having had surgery back on January 15, 2004. I find that sticking around here also keeps me grounded in what I need to do to continue being successful. I am 13 years out so the "new" has worn off, and it is hard work staying in maintenance. Coming here keeps me in touch with where I came from and helps me to stay focused on continuing to live a healthy lifestyle and maintain my weight loss. I'm thankful for the friendships I have made over the years having met several people from here in real life.

I like the camaraderie and all of the wonderful information that I get from so many people.

This is a journey - why not go through it with others that are rooting for you and helping you along the way?

I know that the support here is absolutely vital for my success. After my surgery 8 years ago, I lost 127 pounds. I got a life, got busy, and lost sight of the work of maintenance. And I got off OH. In October I came back after putting back 97 of those, and started all over again. I'm down 45 due to me getting my crap back together, being accountable here, and getting the support of a lot of wonderful people. I'm sticking around this time!

There may be a lot of lurkers, but not a lot of posters and so the community feels small even if it isn't that small. Or maybe I should say, it feels like a community.

I like the blog feature and the menu posts and seeing whose surgery is coming up.

There's stuff I don't like about the site too, but we can't have it all, huh? :)
