10ish years but when I finally made my mind up and made that first phone call it was about 5 weeks.

It was 7 months from my informational seminar to my surgery and about a year and a half from when I made my decision to do it and actually doing having surgery. It took me about a bit to get the nerve up to actually figure out what I needed to do to start.

I attended my first informational session in late September or early October of 2012 and had my surgery in late February of 2013.

I have a basement but don't dwell in it full time.

...but you know, now that I'm thinking of your question in terms of when I started thinking about wls, gosh, that had probably been at least a year, maybe longer, before I pulled the trigger on going to the information session.

I am in Ontario which cover WLS, but can cause some serious delays because of the demand.

I got my referral to the clinic in September 2014, Orientation class on March 1st 2015 and surgery exactly 2 years to the day on March 1st of this year.

The wait was a little ridiculous and I feel like I wasted an entire year of my life just waiting, but it was worth it in the end.

3 weeks until I had it booked (I'm a revision though). I had to wait 6 months for my surgery date though because they had a fire at the clinic and were rebuilding the OR. :(.

End of March 2016, my new PCP suggested I was a good candidate and told me her personal bariatric surgery success story. April 2016 went to informational meeting (required by my surgical group.) May 11, 2016 first meeting with surgeon/RD/NP. Surgery 8/23/2016. My insurance did not require 3 months, but it was a requirement of my group and with all the other testing, etc., the timing worked out well.

Keep on losing!

10 years, maybe? But from the time I started the first steps in the actual process to the day I had surgery, it was close to a year.
