How Did Your Personal Style Change After Goal?
My old closet looked like I attended funerals on a daily basis. My new closet looks like I attend pride festivals.
Color!!!! It's a beautiful thing.
ISO ... New "clique" members. You must be kind, warm, welcoming, honest, intelligent, and have a sense of humor. The words "shamed" or "victim" can not be in your regular vocabulary. Sarcasm is welcome (and wanted!), but cruelty is not. You must not be a coddler or a shamer. All members are free to classify themselves as vets, newbies, grasshoppers or anything else they desire.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, puppies, sunsets and taking off my bra as I pull in the driveway. If you are like minded, you are in!
And remember, we are ALL worthy of love, humor, and dignity.
I started a new group here for my old BP friends and any new friends who have a sense of humor. Link to join:
(sigh) I've GOT to get more into color. First step: Figure out which colors are best on me and/or make me feel great.
Choice #1: Red!

I'm not close to goal yet, but my style has changed significantly...
like Lipstick Lady my old wardrobe was different variations of black. My MIL has inherited the bulk of my clothes and complains "Do you have anything that isn't black". When i was heavier the #1 criteria was coverage and comfort. lots of yoga pants and long sweaters. Maxi dresses were my summer uniform.
Someone at work today told me I look "rich" now with how I dress...lol.
A-line dresses or tent shape were a must before. Now I am surprised to find that even my older smaller A-line dresses are being waylaid for my body con Calvin Klein dresses and pencil skirts. (someone exclaimed that I looked like Barbie in my blue Calvin Klein dress). Think i'll wear that one more often My current favorite is a black pencil skirt with laser cutouts at the bottom and a visible zipper from top to bottom at the back. My tops and jackets are all fitted now not slouchy and i'm back into my heels (though have had to buy new ones because my feet shrank).
I just bought my first pair of skinny jeans...never in my life would I have done that before (admittedly i still feel like a sausage in them) but my hubby loves them so i still wear them self consciously.
I'm now wearing makeup everyday and had my lashes done recently. before I never bothered.

Lashes are the best! I hate mascara and haven't had to wear it since I started the extensions.

My daily uniform - jeans & t's - remains the same, but smaller and cuter. No more boxy tops for this woman! I'm pear shaped and always will be and don't see me getting much smaller in the downstairs w/o plastics, especially for my tummy roll which is hanging on for dear life and is probably adding another size. Seriously, my pelvic bones and hips are now occupying the same space. This last 10-20 lbs. will tell the tale (or tail, in my case).
My style remains the same, simply smaller and more fitted. I did get a major haircut from long to a short stacked bob - highlighted, even! Makeup for events only. And I wear tall boots every excuse I get.
You are fun-nee! I hope the next 10-20 pounds comes off where you want.
"They" say that we can't spot-reduce and just have to keep losing more weight until what is too big is gone. That's sure what happened to me -- my last 15 pounds took a long time (9 months) to disappear, and when that was over a lot of things had changed, including the fact that my thighs (always my problem area) just zipped right up.

I have to wear a lot of hats ( or costumes if you will ) for work and such -
pre WLS I pretty much lived in Brooks Brothers - sometimes more tailored " sexier" suits if it was appropriate. Big jewelry full long hair nice skin.. a natural well groomed " normal " " pretty " ( if slightly inflated) look . Heels were pretty much three inch .
The summers and winter beach vacations were more difficult for me - I didn't like to bare my fat arms my belly ... never mind bathing suiting ...
post op - I have an obscene bikini collection probably literally 50 tops and bottoms . Also an equal amount of stretchy tank tops and junior jeans and teeny shorts of all types . My biggest indulgence is shoes - I buy them off season for very little money and I wear them all - a variety of heel heights some sexier ( and skankier lol ) than others .
I suppose I could say I stopped dressing for quality .. except for business or in a courtroom- I have a ton of fun with my clothes .
Too rarely do I bother with makeup these days - but I have a feeling that's gonna change radically when I meet someone I'm interested in.
One thing I NEVER dared wear preop was lingerie - now I have a couple of vintage slips and lacy silk satin teddy shorty tank top pajamas
And panties with cat ears .. panda faces ... whiskers tie dye fluorescents :)
