Cynthia, you seem to have had an advantage from the get-go by being able to fashion a style for yourself before you lost weight. I recently met a very large woman who rocks her own, stand-out style! BTW, I have always envied girls/women of your height. What a great figure you must cut in your tall boots. :)

My style hasnt changed, just my ability to buy what I always wanted too. Luckily jobs always were/are company shirts with jeans. So I get to be me otherwise. Which usually involves Ariat, Dubarry, Equine Courture, lol. Basically I can buy all the clothing I always wanted out of my tack catalogs, lol. But I do love my Lularoe leggings too.

I really dont do heels though. I spend far to much time working to stretch my hamstrings so my heels are down when I ride and I have a neutral spine, than wear heals that cause the stiff hips, hamstrings, low back and the stick the butt out stuff which all are counter productive. But my boots are all awesome, lol. Cause to me if its not flip flop season its boots, tennis shoes at times too, lol

A style ain't your style unless it's yours. ;)

BTW, I looked at those brands you mentioned -- and, jeez, woman, they are not cheap!

Sales, end of season/year sales, lol. I just cant justify the full price on clothes. I usually grab my ariat jeans between 20-40. Which is within most jean prices, lol.

We wont talk about my boots, if my feet arent comfortable, im not happy, lol. My Dubarrys Ive been extremely fortunate I actually won a pair of their $489 country boots. My favorite boots I own. I have a different pair I nabbed for a good deal (discontinued). I rarely justify full price on anything, lol. But I like my "equestrian" clothing as its made to hold up and usually never lose style, lol.

Mine remained the same - classic. It just became easier to find things I liked.

I wear almost exactly the same things now that I did before surgery-- jeans, colored knit tops, dark cardigans, and silver jewelry, no makeup. My office is "casual dress" so I can get away with it, I just want to be comfortable. (Plus being able to get ready for work in 5 minutes helps now that I have a toddler!)

I suppose it's easier to find styles that I like now on the rare occasion that I need to dress up. When my brother got married a few years back and I was a size 24, I agonized over finding a dress that would be flattering for pictures. When my sister got married this summer and I'm in a size 10, I had many more options and had several "final contenders" when picking out an outfit.

Since having WLS I have started following real-women fashion blogs and found that the daily uniform is much more popular than I'd imagined. That doesn't mean people wear the same clothing every day, but the theme remains the same.

The biggest change is away from large loose cardigans and sweaters to more fitted items. Shorts are also sometimes a bit shorter. Hair and makeup unchanged so far. I did wear a 2 piece bathing suit in Florida (at the encouragement of my TT PS)!

Hey, Liz. :)

"More fitted" seems to be the theme here. But "two-piece swimsuit" may win the prize.

LOL - I figured what the heck. I hadn't had a tummy fit to be seen since I was 17!
